A peer you are working with goes to the doctor with a complaint of stomach distress only to be told, “It’s all in your head”.  Stigma in medical settings is real and it can be tough to confront it, especially when feeling unwell.  In this class, Pat Deegan will explore stigma in physical health settings.  Then she will teach a practical method for helping our peers bypass stigma and in order to get quality medical care.
